Snow Products by Finnish Meteorological Institute

This page has a growing collection of snow products generated at Finnish Meteorological Institute.
The products are made available for everyone interested, especially researchers. Raw data and coordinate files can be downloaded via links below the preview images. More information about products and methods will be available later on.
The latest snow map is also availabele for Google Earth, click here.

The production of snow depth and snow water equivalent maps for winter 2009/2010 has now ended.

Note! The coordinate infromation has been incorrect: you need to flip latitudes or the product in north-south direction to them match. Sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused. This will be fixed starting on the firts product dated for year 2010.

Eurasian snow cover

Snow depth and snow water equivalent are calculated for northern Eurasia for the listed days. Updates are daily, provided the satellite data has been available from NSIDC.
